Benefits of the Long-COVID Thermal Treatment

Reoxygenation and Respiratory Recovery

Combined with a change of climate, the Long-COVID thermal programme promotes:

  • Improved oxygenation

  • Gradual mobilisation of the respiratory system

Over three weeks, guests benefit from comprehensive medical and paramedical supervision, with personalised follow-ups and regular assessments. Gentle physical activities, carried out in the preserved mid-mountain environment, support reoxygenation and help restore movement. In cases of anosmia, an olfactory assessment is conducted by the thermal physician. Nutritional guidance may also be provided by a dietitian.

A Natural and Complementary Treatment

The thermal programme relies on the use of Saint-Gervais thermal water, renowned for its soothing and restorative properties. It helps strengthen recovery and may assist in reducing medication dependence.

Improving Quality of Life

Long COVID significantly affects daily life, limiting energy, mobility, and overall well-being. Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, the Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc thermal treatment helps improve quality of life, restore vitality, and gradually return to a more normal routine.

What to Expect During a Long-COVID Thermal Programme

Duration & Schedule

Three weeks, 18 consecutive days of treatments
Treatments and workshops are held Monday to Saturday (rest on Sundays)
Medical supervision is provided throughout the programme, with the thermal physician creating a personalised treatment plan.

Thermal Treatments

The Long-COVID thermal programme may include treatments across several specialisations depending on your after-effects. The prescription will specify which areas should be prioritised.

Medical Supervision

Individualised medical care is provided. Upon arrival, each patient has an initial consultation with a thermal physician. This discussion and clinical examination assess post-COVID sequelae and fatigue levels, including mental health aspects.

Based on this assessment, the physician establishes:

  • The thermal water treatment programme

  • If needed: physiotherapy sessions

  • Thermal treatments administered by the physician

Well-Being Support & Workshops

Physiotherapists, psychologists, adapted physical activity coaches, dietitians, thermal care assistants, and sophrologists work together in synergy. Alongside prescribed thermal treatments and physiotherapy sessions, the Long-COVID programme includes targeted workshops, some individualised.

  • One personalised assessment

  • Adapted and personalised physical activities

  • Individual and group workshops: individual sessions or group discussions on various themes

  • Individual well-being treatments: our spa practitioners provide a clay cocoon and hydrothermal massage to ensure self-care
