Founded in the 19th century, the Saint-Gervais Thermal Baths are closely linked to the history of thermal medicine in France. Their water, rich in sulphur and minerals, has been renowned for over 200 years for its soothing and restorative properties.

Over time, the Baths have become a place of care, wellness, and innovation, while preserving their architectural and cultural heritage.

We hope this message finds you well and ready to enjoy some well-deserved moments of relaxation in our thermal spa. We would like to inform you of a few changes on-site due to works being carried out by the Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc Town Hall.

The good news: Starting this spring, a major improvement will be introduced with the installation of a wastewater lift called the “Thermal Baths Lift.” This new facility will make it easier to move between the upper and lower parts of Saint-Gervais, providing smoother access from the town centre to the Thermal Baths. We are confident that this enhancement will make your experience even more enjoyable.

Relieving Tinnitus with Thermal Treatments

• Between 10% and 18% of the French population experience tinnitus.

• 1 in 5 teenagers suffers from persistent tinnitus.

• Certain medications can exacerbate tinnitus.

• 90% of people with tinnitus experience it due to noise-related hearing loss.
  "This condition manifests differently in each patient: ringing, buzzing, clicking…"

A New Therapeutic Approach

"The Saint-Gervais Thermal Baths offer a new therapeutic approach to tackle this issue. It includes thermal treatments with soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as osteopathy and sophrology sessions," explains Dr Hubert Bigot, ENT doctor leading the care team.
"We need to relieve patients who also have muscular tension around the ears stemming from the cervical spine."

Breaking Out of Isolation

"A thermal cure mainly helps patients step away from their daily routine and isolation. Before overseeing this treatment, I hadn’t realised the importance of the group effect," Dr Bigot admits.
"Patients leave with strategies they’ve discovered through contact with others. The doctor also highlights the effectiveness of hearing aids for tinnitus, which is why an audiologist is part of the care team."

Three six-day sessions will take place in 2024: in May, June, and September.
