The Benefits of a Dermatological Thermal Treatment Programme in Saint-Gervais

Soothes and heals the skin

Saint-Gervais thermal water helps to:

  • Soothe the skin and relieve itching

  • Promote the healing of skin lesions

  • Restore suppleness and improve everyday skin comfort

Over the course of the treatment, inflammation gradually subsides and the skin becomes softer, regenerating naturally.

Long-lasting results

Dermatological spa therapy delivers lasting benefits for chronic skin conditions:

  • Flare-ups become less frequent

  • Overall skin quality improves

  • Benefits may last 6 to 8 months, contributing to a better quality of life

How does the dermatological thermal treatment work?

Daily treatments included in the prescribed course of thermal therapy, as determined by the spa physician:

  • Filiform shower: administered by the spa physician, this treatment deeply restores the skin, soothes itching, and improves suppleness.
  • General bath: this bath has soothing, drying, and healing properties. The warmth of the water stimulates cutaneous circulation, producing a relaxing and muscle-loosening effect, particularly beneficial for those with stiff joints.
  • Full-body spray: finely misted, the thermal water helps to decongest the skin.
  • Scalp shower: a gentle flow of thermal water over the scalp; its properties soothe and promote skin healing.
  • Drinking cure: by taking the thermal water internally, you benefit from its anti-inflammatory properties and help revitalise the body.

Additional treatments available on medical prescription:

  • Local bath: applied to the hands and/or legs, this treatment enhances the decongesting, anti-itching, and relaxing effects of the thermal water.
  • Facial spray: a fine mist of thermal water is applied to the face.

Physiotherapy treatments are not included in the thermal spa treatment programme and may only be carried out upon medical prescription. During the initial consultation, the spa physician may issue such a prescription, depending on your state of health and the therapeutic indication of your course of treatment.

  • Physiotherapy treatments: underwater massage, rehabilitation and reconditioning therapies, and other treatments; further information is available from the medical reception desk.
