What is a State-Approved Thermal Treatment Programme?

An approved thermal treatment programme is a medically recognised therapy covered by Social Security. It lasts for 18 consecutive days and is carried out under a prescription issued by your GP or a specialist.

It differs from a mini treatment or a wellness stay, as the duration and nature of the therapies are medically supervised and tailored to your individual prescription. Furthermore, it benefits from partial or full reimbursement, depending on your coverage.

Which Medical Conditions Are Eligible for Coverage?

At Saint-Gervais Thermal Baths, the approved thermal treatment programme is offered for several recognised therapeutic orientations:

  • Dermatology: eczema, psoriasis, scars, burns, and more.
  • Respiratory and ENT conditions: asthma, ear infections, rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, allergies, and others.
  • Oral and mucosal conditions: dry mouth, canker sores, gingivitis, gum recession, etc.
  • Dual orientation: the possibility to treat two conditions within the same treatment programme.

How to Obtain Coverage?

Your treatment must be prescribed by your doctor using a specific form (CERFA n°11139*02).

The complete application (form + income declaration) must be sent to your Health Insurance fund.

Once approved, you will receive a coverage authorisation to present upon arrival at the Saint-Gervais Thermal Baths.

Good to know: reimbursement for an approved treatment depends on your income, medical coverage, and complementary health insurance (mutuelle).
