How do I get to the Thermal Baths?

BY ROAD

From Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy or Geneva: take the A40 motorway towards Chamonix Mont Blanc.
Take exit 21: Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Passy, Le Fayet.
At the first roundabout, take the first exit; at the second roundabout, take the second exit.
Cross through Le Fayet and continue along the D1205, Avenue de Genève.
As you leave Le Fayet, take the first road on the right, signposted “Le Parc Thermal”.
Follow the driveway to the very end of the thermal park.
The Thermal Baths are located within the park at:
355 allée du Docteur Lépinay, 74170 Le Fayet.

Is the treatment institute located in the same place as the spa?

Yes — all our facilities are located at 355 AllĂ©e du Docteur LĂ©pinay, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, advance booking is essential. For treatments, we recommend reserving at least 15 days ahead of your preferred date, especially during peak season.

How do I book at the thermal spa?

Bookings are made directly through our website.

I have a membership — how do I book?

There is no need to book online.
Please send us your request, including your contact details along with your preferred date and time. We will confirm your appointment by return.
When you arrive, please present your membership documentation; proof of identity may also be requested.

Can I cancel my booking?

If your appointment is more than 72 hours away, you may cancel your booking by following these steps:

  1. Go to YOUR ACCOUNT

  2. Click on MY ORDERS

  3. Select the order and click CANCEL — the transaction amount will be refunded directly to your account.

If your order does not meet the criteria for online cancellation, you will be redirected to submit a refund request to our accounts department.

Can I change my treatment at the last minute?

Yes, provided it is a massage that does not require specific equipment.
(This is not possible for maternity massage, crystal massage, or the Alpine plants refuge treatment.)

What time should I arrive for a treatment?

We recommend arriving 15 minutes early (or slightly more in high season) to allow time to prepare calmly.

Is the duration of the treatment included in the 3-hour thermal spa session?

No — treatment time is in addition to the 3-hour thermal spa access when booking a package.

Is the spa accessible for pregnant women?

The thermal spa is accessible from 4 to 8 months of pregnancy, except for saunas, steam rooms, and water jets directed at the lower back or abdomen.
Treatments are also available from the 4th to the 8th month, including a dedicated maternity massage.

Is the thermal spa suitable for guests with disabilities?

Yes, our establishment is equipped to welcome guests with disabilities.

For guests with reduced mobility (upon presentation of a PMR card), a 20% discount applies to entry to the Bains du Mont Blanc.
For wheelchair users, a 50% discount applies for both the guest and their companion.
Discounts apply to the highest rate, excluding promotions or other reductions.

What should I bring to the thermal spa?

WELLNESS INSTITUTE

  • A swimsuit (long swim shorts, long swimsuits and modest swimsuits are not permitted — available for purchase at reception).
  • A pair of non-slip plastic sandals (available to purchase for €7 at reception).
  • You may keep your swimsuit on during treatments, or we can provide disposable underwear.

THERMAL SPA

  • A swimsuit (same rules as above).
  • Non-slip sandals (€7 at reception).
  • A robe is provided upon arrival. You may bring your own towel for use in the changing rooms at the end of your visit.

BABY THERMAL SPA

For babies, we recommend a swim nappy (type 2). They are available for purchase on site.

FAMILY THERMAL SPA

You may bring your own armbands; a few are available on site.

Which swimsuits are allowed?

  • Men: swim shorts above the knee.
  • Women: swimsuits without sleeves or legs.
  • Long swim shorts, long swimsuits and modest swimsuits are not permitted.

Is a swimming cap required?

No, wearing a swimming cap is not compulsory.

Can jewellery oxidise in the thermal water?

Yes — jewellery that is not yellow gold may oxidise. Please leave your jewellery in your locker.

What can I take into the thermal spa?

No personal belongings are permitted inside the spa.

What is a Happy Hour session?

It is a reduced-duration access to the Bains du Mont Blanc, offered occasionally depending on visitor numbers.
These slots offer a reduced price, which may vary according to the season.

In what weather conditions are the outdoor pools accessible?

The outdoor pools are open in all weather conditions and are only evacuated in case of thunderstorms.

What do facial treatments include?

Each facial has its own specific composition, which can be viewed on the facial treatment page.

From what age are treatments available?

Treatments are available for adults only.

From what age can children enter the Bains du Mont Blanc?

  • Children 13 and over, accompanied by an adult, may access the Bains du Mont Blanc.

  • Children aged 3 to 12 may attend family sessions on specific slots:

    • Sundays outside school holidays

    • Mondays, and Saturdays during school holidays

  • Babies aged 6 months to 2 years may attend baby–parent sessions on specific slots on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

It is not permitted to attend with a child under 3 and a child over 3 at the same time slot.

I submitted my online registration but haven’t received my confirmation yet. Should I be concerned?

The reservations team will send you confirmation within 7 days of your online registration. If you have not received it after this time, please feel free to contact us.

Once my treatment is booked, can I choose my treatment schedule?

To select your treatment times, you must add the Premium Option when registering.

How can I modify or cancel my treatment programme?

Can I split my thermal treatment into several periods?

No. An approved thermal treatment must be completed in a single session of 18 consecutive days, public holidays included.

Can I undergo several thermal treatments in the same year?

Only one approved treatment is authorised per calendar year, except for the specific case of major burn patients. (Further information available on Ameli.fr)

However, you may undergo several mini treatment programmes throughout the year.

When should I follow my thermal treatment?

You are free to choose your treatment dates according to:

  • the opening calendar of our services

  • your accommodation dates

You may begin your treatment from Monday to Saturday (excluding special treatments and programmes). Treatments begin on the first day selected and take place from Monday to Saturday, including public holidays.

Attention: coverage agreements from health insurance funds have different validity periods depending on their issue date:

  • issued before 1/10/N–1: NOT valid for year N

  • issued between 01/10/N–1 and 30/11/N–1: valid until 31/03/N inclusive

  • issued in December N–1: valid for the whole of year N

How can I find accommodation for my treatment?

My treatment was prescribed with hospitalisation. Is this possible at Saint-Gervais Thermal Baths?

Yes, it is possible.
If your treatment is prescribed as part of a hospital stay, please first contact the Clinique Noiret/Sancellemoz in Cluses on 04 50 78 72 04 for information on their admission procedures and availability. They organise transport between the clinic and the thermal centre.

Are there any contraindications for undergoing a thermal treatment?

There are no specific contraindications. Please consult your GP for further guidance.

From what age are children accepted at the thermal centre?

  • From 3 months old for dermatology treatments

  • From 3 years old for respiratory/ENT treatments and mucosal conditions

All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult during the treatments.

Are the thermal baths open on public holidays?

Treatments take place from Monday to Saturday morning, including public holidays, depending on the opening dates of the medical services.

What is the difference between an approved treatment programme and a short treatment?

  • An approved thermal treatment is prescribed by a doctor, lasts 18 consecutive days, and is covered by your health insurance fund.

  • A mini treatment requires no prescription, lasts 5 to 10 days, and is not covered by health insurance.

I am pregnant — can I take a treatment?

There are no contraindications.
Please inform us when booking or upon arrival so we can adapt treatments if needed.
We also recommend consulting your doctor or midwife beforehand to ensure your state of health is compatible with a thermal treatment.

I am a foreign resident without French insurance — can I take a treatment at your establishment?

Yes, thermal treatments are open to everyone.

If you are a resident of the European Union:
You may request European coverage (FORM S2) from your national health insurance.
Your treatment will then be approved for 18 days, with 65% covered by French Social Security. The remainder is payable by you.
A paid invoice will be provided at the end of the treatment.

If you are from outside the EU:
You may undergo:

  • an 18-day thermal treatment at your own expense, or

  • a mini treatment (5–10 days).

Can my treatment be reimbursed by my health insurance organisation?

To be covered, a thermal treatment must be prescribed by a GP or specialist.
Your health insurance fund will issue an approval document consisting of several parts.

Reimbursement rates vary between 65% and 100%, depending on long-term conditions or workplace accidents.

If you have Complémentaire Santé Solidaire, a valid certificate must be presented to waive advance payment.

Treatments under 18 days are not eligible for reimbursement.

What should I bring for my thermal treatment?

Dermatology treatments

Provided daily: 1 bathrobe and 1 towel, to be returned after each session.

In your treatment bag, please bring (according to your treatment orientation):

  • One or two swimsuits (must not cover skin lesions)

  • A bag for wet items

  • Non-slip sandals (available at reception)

  • A cup for the drinking cure (depending on prescription; available at reception)

Respiratory / ENT / Oral Mucosa Treatments

These treatments are done in normal clothing.

Provided daily: 1 towel, to be returned after each session.

In your treatment bag:

  • A cup for the drinking cure

  • ENT equipment required for your treatment (sold at reception for first-time patients)

  • Tissues

Please bring only essential personal items.
Jewellery and watches should be left at home.
Mobile phones and tablets are not permitted in treatment areas.

I already have ENT equipment from a previous treatment — can I use it?

Yes. Please bring it with you. We will check compatibility with our facilities.
If it is not compatible, the required equipment will be available for purchase upon arrival.
Rental is not possible.

Do I need to bring my own bathrobe?

For dermatology treatments and access to the thermal spa, one bathrobe and a small towel are provided.

Accompanying adults for child patients or guests with reduced mobility must bring their own bathrobe.
Bathrobe rental is available for accompanying adults. More information at reception.

My child is undergoing treatment — may I accompany them?

  • Dermatology:
    Children aged 12 must be accompanied by one adult in the treatment area. Only the child receives treatments.
    The accompanying adult must have their own bathrobe (rental available) and non-slip sandals.

  • Respiratory / ENT / Oral Mucosa:
    Children under 10 must be accompanied by one adult. Only the child receives treatments.

For all programmes, a parent must be present for medical consultations.

As accompaniment is compulsory, no extra fees apply to the treatment package (except optional bathrobe rental).

The accompanying adult may change during the programme, provided they are known to the child.

How does treatment take place for individuals with reduced mobility or disabilities?

Please inform the treatment reception as early as possible so we can prepare for your arrival.
The thermal centre provides:

  • dedicated parking spaces

  • PRM-accessible lifts

  • PRM treatment cabins

  • patient lifts

If the patient is not autonomous during treatments, they must be accompanied for the entire programme.
Staff members are not authorised to provide physical assistance.

Which documents should I bring for my treatment?

Please bring:

  • Your printed approval for coverage issued by your health insurance organisation

  • Your valid printed ComplĂ©mentaire SantĂ© Solidaire certificate (if applicable)

  • Your updated French health card (Carte Vitale)

Can I interrupt my thermal treatment?

A full thermal treatment lasts 18 days.

It may be interrupted for several reasons, but only three circumstances allow reimbursement (pro rata of days completed):

  1. Force majeure (e.g., family bereavement)

  2. Suspension of activity at the thermal establishment

  3. Medical necessity, confirmed by a medical certificate

Any other reason does not qualify for reimbursement.

Are treatments delivered in individual cabins?

Yes, thermal treatments take place in private cabins or individual spaces.

What time should I arrive for my treatment?

Fifteen days before your arrival, you will receive an email/letter indicating your treatment schedule.
We ask all guests to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled time.
